Lloyd Phelps
As the First Director of training we think it is important to remember his legacy.
He was the President of Phelps Security, Inc, one of the oldest security companies in Memphis TN. Lloyd graduated from Overton High School in 1972, attended Memphis State University and graduated from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department Training Academy in 1977. After 22 years of service as a Reserve Officer, Lloyd retired from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in 1999 at the rank of Inspector. His last 18 years with the Sheriff’s Office were spent assigned to the training division with the responsibilities of law-enforcement training of Deputies for Shelby County and surrounding agencies in all aspects of law enforcement.
He believed that the inhouse training we gave our Guards was very important to the development of a great Security Guard.
